Favorites / Bookmarks

When you want to contact people or see them , you use a diary. Similarly when you want to remember and later see websites you use bookmarks.

It is impossible to remember each and every website that you like.
So we store all our website names at one place.

So what you can do is that just like your e-mail , you can store your favorite websites on the internet.

In this way , you will be able to access your favorite websites from any computer.

Just like an email account , you will have a Bookmarks Account with a login and a password.

1.Do you have a gmail user id or an orkut user id ?
If Yes Go to Step 2
Otherwise Click Here

2.Click here and enter your user id and password and click "Sign in"

3.This is a very important point.

On the page that appears next.
Go to the bottom of the page
On the right side you will see a box with "Google Bookmarks" written inside it.

Now Drag and Drop( Just like you drag and drop a file from one folder to another ) that box into your favorites/bookmarks of your browser ( wait for the favorites menu to open when you place the mouse pointer over "Favorites/Bookmarks"). Just drop it anywhere between your current bookmarks.

If you have completed Step 3 properly, you will see a new Link added to your Favorites as "Google Bookmarks".

4.Bookmarking a website.
Let us bookmark this webpage itself.

Just go to Favorites/Bookmarks and select Google Bookmarks.

A new window will open . Press "Add Bookmark" in that window.

Done.

5.Repeat Step 1 and 2.
You will see this website added to your list. You will be able to do this from any computer.
Just remember to Logout once you are done.

Next time you want to store a website just do step 4 and visiting that site.

Hope you understood everything.

6.Press "comments" below and tell me how it went.

Vinit what you are doing here is stunning. But do write in about more stuff man like RSS, stumbling etc etc. You are definitely the google man so I am actually looking forward to knowing a great deal from this blog.

As far as the feedback is concerned it went off okay. You have provided instructions like a proper software techie. Seems like a well drafted algorithm to me. But you can still explain your steps a little more elaborately.

A suggestion is to explain people why you have bookmarked the "Google Bookmark" site itself.

First of all thank you for commenting , as a blogger you know how much that means....secondly about ur comment..I agree that there is a lot more to write. But this site is for people that have very basic knowledge of computers. It is for people who currently see a computer as a burden than an enabler. May be I'll write another blog for people who want to know more about leveraging the power of the web........its worrying that it seems like an algorithm ( didnt want it that way) will hv to think something up.....not elaborating again goes with the goal of keeping things simple. i want people to use their common sense to figure things out for themselves from directions.........chow
